2025-2026 Officers

PLEASE WELCOME OUR 2025-2026 OFFICERS!

PRESIDENT

Blake Barre

Hi, I’m Blake Barre, a junior petroleum engineering student at LSU. I’m originally from Mobile, Alabama, but I’ve been an LSU Tiger for as long as I can remember—thanks to my proud LSU alumni parents. I chose petroleum engineering because it allowed me to attend my dream school with out-of-state tuition assistance. Three years in, I couldn’t be happier with that decision. SPE has played a big role in my LSU experience. As an out-of-state student, finding a community wasn’t always easy, but SPE made it easier. I’ve met amazing people, many of whom became friends and mentors who’ve helped me with everything from resumes to career advice. Now, I want to give back. Being President is my way of supporting the community that supported me and helping others find the same success and connection I did.

VICE PRESIDENT

Rodney Monette

Hi, my name is Rodney Monette, and I am a sophomore in petroleum engineering. I work in the PERTT Lab, and I play intramural sports for fun. Also, I enjoy volunteering for the community, which includes rebuilding Louisiana’s coast, becoming a Krewe Marshall for Mardi Gras parades, and planting trees. I am a perfect fit for the Events Manager position due to my enjoyment and participation of all the SPE events. I will make sure to enhance industry engagement, organize meaningful events, and create networking opportunities.

SECRETARY

Ryan Barker

My name is Ryan, and I am a rising junior at LSU studying petroleum engineering. I like football, fishing, and video games. I also love to cook. I’ve been a member for two years and got one of my internships because of a SPE event. I’ve had two internships so far, one with Hilcorp and another with Murphy Oil Company. I love a challenge and would like to make sure that everyone in SPE is utilizing all of the resources the club has. Geaux Tigers!

TREASURER

Georgiana Kamau

Hello, my name is Georgiana Kamau. I am from Kennesaw, Georgia. Some things about myself are that I am determined, hardworking, and resilient, and I never back down from an opportunity to learn and grow. I am ambitious but grounded, open to collaboration in every space I enter, I bring a strong work ethic, a sharp mind, and a heart that genuinely cares.

Renee S Kramer

I am currently involved in SWE and CLA and am eager to enhance my education through my internship with HESS. As a student representative, I’m excited to engage with my peers and contribute to meaningful projects and initiatives within the oil and gas industry. I hope to bring opportunity, positivity, and a strong sense of community to SPE.
